ATP's public lighting LED luminaire Aire® receives the German Design Award for the second consecutive year.

FRANKFURT —21/8/2018— ATP's public lighting luminaire Aire® has been presented with the renowned design prize German Design Award (GDA 2019) for the second consecutive year. This time it received a Special Mention, awarded in recognition of its functionality, its avant-garde lines and its unique combination of technical innovations.

The GDA 2019 jury, comprised of 46 leading design experts from the industry as well as the academic and scientific fields, describes it as "a modern public lighting luminaire that features clean, minimalist and functional design and exhibits innovative lighting technology".

Including this recent award, the Aire® luminaire has already won three internationally prestigious awards: The German Design Award 2019 (Special Mention), the German Design Award 2018 (Winner), and the Design Plus 2018. The latter is exclusively for the most innovative products presented at the Light+Building exhibition held twice a year in Frankfurt, and was physically delivered during such event.

Aire®: Functional and avant-garde design with Laminar Heatsink®

The LED outdoor lighting luminaire Aire® has been specifically designed to provide maximum efficiency to one of ATP's most important developments, the Laminar Heatsink®. This thermal management system, designed by the company and with an international patent, solves the issue of LED modules overheating and it considerably extends their useful life. In the Aire® luminaire, it is located outside the chassis, exposed, which enhances its effectiveness.

Smooth, extra thin, and made with a special alloy for naval uses, the Laminar Heatsink® reduces the working temperature of LED modules by 21% and extends their useful life to more than 21,000 hours. Considering that the average annual operation time of outdoor lighting in Spain is 4100 hours, this feature represents a useful life of almost 25 years for the LEDs used in this application.

On the other hand, the design of the Aire® luminaire has been studied in detail, for its installation and handling to be completely user-friendly. All the elements have been structured in such a way as to make the interaction as easy as possible, meaning that any maintenance work can only be carried out simply by loosening one screw. Also, the accessories and components of the luminaire are assembled in a nucleus that functions as a single piece called the gear tray. This component automatically connects to the power supply when inserted into the chassis of the luminaire, which eliminates any electrical risk when handling it.

The Aire® family consists of three series (3 Series, 5 Series and  7 Series, from lower to higher power), and can be adapted to any public lighting need thanks to its modular LED system and the numerous optics it offers. The 3 Series is also available with the exclusive Comfort Diffuser®, which reduces the glare produced by LED street lighting without reducing the exceptional performance of the luminaire. Finally, the Aire® luminaire features all ATP's unique characteristics: It is IP66+, IK10+, Class II+ anti-electrocution, immune to corrosion and recyclable, and includes a 10-year warranty.
