ATP launches the Laminar Heatsink®, the solution to LED overheating

PAMPLONA —03/10/2016— ATP already includes in its LED street lights the exclusive Laminar Heatsink®, a unique system designed and internationally patented by the company to solve the overheating inherent to LED and thus extend its lifespan. This device, which unlike fin heatsinks is flat and super-slim, reduces the working temperature of the LED modules by 21 % and prolongs their life over 21 000 hours. Given that the annual average operating time of street lighting in Spain is 4100 hours, this means lengthening LED lifespan to nearly 25 years.

These figures are the result of rigorous measurements carried out by the company's Quality department in a climatic chamber at a constant 35 °C temperature and without air flow. ATP Lighting is the only company in the industry that performs its tests at such a high temperature, 10 °C above the 25 °C at which other manufacturers test their products.

Laminar Heatsink is now available for Classic hexagonal, Classic square, Classic round, Enur, Funcional, Metrópoli, Croma, Evolución, Cónica and Venus series, as well as for Orión projector. In addition, this light and elegant device constitutes the essence of the future Aire® luminaire, the next ATP flagship for LED street lighting.
